Player, Booth represent golf ‘Bodies’

ESPN the Magazine will be coming out with its fifth annual Body Issue featuring 17 of the most fit and chiseled nude bodies of great athletes. They call it appropriately, “Bodies We Want.”

Among the athletes are two golfers, 77-year-old Gary Player, a 9-time major champion, and Scotland’s Carly Booth (above).

gary playerPlayer started in the gym in his back prime and has continued. He told ESPN that he has worked out regularly for 63 years. He does 1,200 sit-ups, all different kind of core exercises and stretches daily. He is also 70 percent vegetarian.

“I visited a chiropractor recently, and he said, ‘You shouldn’t be able to walk. You’ve hit millions of balls, and your spine shouldn’t be holding up to it, but your core is so strong that you manage to keep going.’ ”

Booth is shown with a tattoo (one of five) on her hip and quotes Shakespeare, “It is not the stars to hold our destiny, But it is ourselves.”

Among the other athletes posed naked for the issue are: NFL’s Colin Kaepernick, NBA’s John Wall, race car driver Courtney Force and a pregnant volleyballer Kerri Walsh Jennings.

The issue hits the newsstands on Friday.
