PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — The 2013 PGA Tour’s FedExCup schedule includes 36 Regular Season tournaments and the four FedExCup Playoff events, concluding with the Tour Championship Sept. 19-22, the PGA announced Monday.
The notable changes to the 2013 schedule include:
• The Mayakoba Golf Classic moves from its February slot opposite the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship to its own fall date as part of the beginning to the 2013-2014 FedExCup Season.
• Due to the Masters Tournament concluding on April 14, the Valero Texas Open moves from two weeks after the Masters to immediately before the Masters.
• The off week during the FedExCup Playoffs will fall between the second and third events, the Deutsche Bank Championship (Aug. 30-Sept. 2) and the BMW Championship (Sept. 12-15). Another off week falls between the Tour Championship and The Presidents Cup, which will be contested the week of Sept. 30 at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
Also in 2013, there will be a slight increase in FedExCup points distribution for the three Additional Events scheduled opposite major championships and World Golf Championships — the Puerto Rico Open presented by seepuertorico.com, True South Classic and Reno-Tahoe Open. The winners of these events will earn 300 points, up from 250.
