When it comes to prognosticating a major, the three staff members of GolfersWest need some major help.
Jim Street, Bob Sherwin and Kirby Arnold all struck out in their Masters predictions, failing to select Bubba Watson as the winner. Furthermore, none of them had Luis Oosterhuis finishing second, although Street and Arnold nailed it when selecting Phil Mickelson to finish third.
Final tabulations are in and the winner is: Street. Adding up the point totals for the predicted top five finishers in The Masters, Street’s picks totaled 127 points. Sherwin was second with 136 and Arnold was third with 142.
As for the sleeper pick, Kirby had the top finisher in Jason Dufner, tied for 24th, while Jim’s choice, Rickie Fowler tied for 27th. Bob’s sleeper, K.J. Choi, snoozed too much and missed the cut.
So now it’s back the drawing board. We’re sure to do better in the U.S. Open.
